RTD vs thermocouple: choosing industrial temperature sensing
Compare RTDs and thermocouples on accuracy, range, speed, and wiring — plus when to use thermistors, IR, or fiber-optic sensing instead.
Resistance temperature detector.
Temperature sensor whose resistance rises predictably with temperature (Pt100 = 100 Ω at 0 °C). Accurate and stable; 3- or 4-wire connections cancel lead resistance.

Zones, divisions, gas groups and temperature classes decide which equipment may sit in a classified area. IP and NEMA ratings answer a different question.
Plan factory and site acceptance around requirements, observable results, failure states, approved changes and recoverable project files.
